Clinical Interests:

While infective endocarditis, critical care medicine for cardiovascular disease and Behcet disease remain Dr. Jian’ professional interests, coronary bypass surgery, aortic valve, mitral valve and tricuspid valve surgery comprise most of his caseload; in these areas, his interests include David, Bentall, valve repair, and particularly, mitral valve repair procedure.


Bio:

Dr. Jian presided the research of bone marrow stroma stem cells for valvular experiment in histological engineering supported by Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province between 2007 to 2009. Besides, he also presided the research project for surgical strategy and outcome of aortic valve repair funded by Guangdong Science and Technique Association between 2012 to 2015. In 2009, he visited Cardiac Center at Karlsruhe for an academic visit. At Guangdong Cardiovascular Institute, Dr. Jian has performed thousands of cardiovascular operations since 2003 and performed more than 500 cases with infective endocarditis for the past 10 years, including more than 250 mitral valve repair and more than 100 perivalvuar abscess. Now, he performs 300-400 cardiovascular operations annually.


Education:

Dr. Jian received MS degree in 1997 from Capital Medical University in Beijing, China and received MD degree in 2002 from Guangdong Cardiovascular Institute in Guangzhou, China. He trained in cardiovascular surgery at department of cardiovascular surgery in Guangdong Provincial People’ Hospital (Named Guangdong General Hospital in the past) under Dr. Jingfang Zhang.
