Dr. Zhang is an experienced ophthalmologist with passion for helping patients improve eye health and functionality through preventative, corrective and surgical care. With diverse educational and work background, She has been engaged in clinical work, scientific research, education, blindness prevention and treatment for nearly 20 years. Her interests include glaucoma and cataract. Dr. Zhang has set the first glaucoma specialist clinic in Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital. She is an expert in early diagnosis of glaucoma as well as various therapies, including medication, laser surgery, and different kinds of cataract and glaucoma surgery. She has conducted more than 20,000 surgeries. In order to improve patient experience, she is always friendly and confident to make patients feel comfortable during examinations and treatment. She is able to explain complex medical knowledge to patients in an understandable and non-intimidating way. In order to follow latest developments, she joined University of South California Eye Institute as a senior visiting scholar in 2015 and finished postdoctoral studies a year after. Her scientific achievements were published on international meetings, including Optometry’s Annual Meeting and Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons Annual Meeting. She has profound professional knowledge, diagnostic ability and surgical technique to treat patients effectively.


Dr. Zhang serves as member of American Optometric Association and got Advanced Individual Award from the Asian Foundation for the Prevention of Blindness. She has hosted several projects funded by provincial and municipal grants, has written a monograph on cataract surgery and published more than 30 articles as first author and corresponding author. She has excellent ability to apply scientific findings to clinical practice, improving diagnosis and treatment plans.

Cataract Clinic: Tuesday: 2:00pm-5:00pm

Glaucoma Clinic: Wednesday: 8:00am-12:00am
