Dr. Zhang is proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of various common eye diseases, and specializes in fundus diseases, such as complex retinal detachment and diabetic retinopathy, cataract and glaucoma. He has performed more than 40,000 cataract extract surgery and 10,000 retinal surgery with world-class skills.

Dr. Zhang has participated in the blindness prevention and rehabilitation project of nationwide and Guangdong province for many times since 1996.

Dr. Zhang has won the third prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of the National Health Commission of the PRC. He has also obtained many titles, including the first "Yangcheng Good Doctor" (2015), "Advanced Individual" awarded by Hong Kong Asia Blind Prevention Foundation (2014, 2016), "2017 Hurun Ping An China Good Doctor" (2017).
