Bio:
Dr. Liu, MD, PhD, associate chief physician, has been devoted to cardiovascular surgery in both academic research and practice for more than eighteen years. He graduated from Sun Yat-sen University in 2002 and Guangdong Cardiovascular Institute in 2011. He completed general surgery residency and cardiothoracic surgery fellowships at the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University and Shenzhen Sun Yat-sen Cardiovascular Diseases Hospital. From August to October 2015, he studied in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Linkoping University Hospital in Sweden. From 2020, he served as Deputy Director of Section of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital. He has been engaged in more than 5,500 cardiovascular surgeries, and performed more than 3,000 cases of heart surgeries of all kinds of complicated cases as an independent surgeon, including severe single ventricle, coronary artery anomalies and complex heart valve diseases. He is skilled at corrective repairs of congenital heart disease in people of all ages including neonates, children and adults. In addition, he is investigating the application of 3D technologies in structural heart disease. He is also an authority in the pediatric mechanical circulatory support.
Dr. Liu is the 10th Youth Committee Young Member of Chinese Society for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. He lectures across the nation and has published numerous articles in foreign and domestic journals such as The Journal of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery, European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery and Chinese Journal of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery.
