Bio:
Dr. Zhuang, MD, PhD, has been devoted to cardiovascular surgery in both academic research and practice for more than thirty years. He completed general surgery residency and cardiothoracic surgery fellowships at the Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital and served as the Director of Department of Cardiovascular Surgery from 2007 to 2018. As the academic leader, he has applied a number of new surgical methods for congenital heart disease (CHD) and presided over the establishment of surgical treatment guidelines for CHD in China. He also led the team to reach an international advanced level in prevention, diagnosis and treatment for complex CHD and to establish the first comprehensive prevention and treatment network of CHD in China.
Dr. Zhuang holds important leadership positions in Cardiac Surgery Organizations and currently serves on the Editor Board of Top Journals of Cardiac Surgery at home and abroad.
