Professor Du had been the Director of Hematology since 1998 to 2018. She is the discipline leader and a leading expert in hematology. She has extensive expertise in hematology and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. She has been focusing on basic and clinical research on myelodysplastic syndrome, CMML and MPN, and in particular the influence of the bone marrow microenvironment on the development of disease. She has conducted clinical trials of HMA in the treatment of MDS, CAR-T in the treatment of refractory hematopoietic malignancies, and MSC in the treatment of steroid-resistant cGVHD. She is recognised as a leading expert in myelodysplastic syndrome/MPN and acute myeloid leukemia in China. She is vice director of the MDS/MPN working group of Chinese Anti-Cancer Association and is vice chairman of Hematology Branch of Guangdong Medical Association. Professor Du is very active in teaching registrars and medical students. She is an adjunct professor and doctoral supervisor of South China University of Technology School of medicine, Southern Medical University and Guangdong Cardiovascular Institute in China.
