Zaiyi Liu/Chief physician of radiology, M.D., post doctor, professor, PhD supervisor

Dr. Liu is specialized in imaging diagnosis of common and difficult cases, especially in abdominal imaging, and particularly proficient in the retroperitoneal space and peritoneal cavity diseases.


Dr. Liu got his Bachelor of Medicine degree from West China University of Medical Sciences in 1999, and received his M.D. degree from Sichuan University in 2004. After M.D. graduation, he served as a residency in Diagnostic Radiology in the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical College. In 2006, he moved to Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital and has been working in the Department of Radiology ever since. As a visiting scholar, he had studied in the Department of Radiology in Brigham women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School for one year.

Dr. Liu is the Vice Chairman of Youth Committee of Chinese Society of Radiology, Vice Chairman of Youth Committee of Chinese Radiologist Association, Member of Chinese Society of MRI Radiology and member of Intelligent Healthcare Expert Committee of Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology, etc.


Research Interests

Abdominal imaging and Radiomics have been Dr. Liu's primary professional and scientific interests throughout his career as a radiologist. Meanwhile, Artificial Intelligence is also included in his projects. To date, there are 8 scientific research grants in which Dr. Liu is the principal investigator, including the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and the National Key R&D Program Project. Dr. Liu has participated in the translation of the book Multislice-CT of The Abdomen and has published 29 SCI papers in Journal of Clinical Oncology, Clinical Cancer Research and Radiology, etc.


Awards and Honors

As the main inventor, he was granted 1 patent for Utility Model and 1 patent for Invention. Four copyright registrations for computer software have been achieved in the past 5 years.

He was invited to deliver lectures in English on 9 international academic conferences.

Dr. Liu was awarded with the honor Distinguished Young Scholars by Chinese Society of Radiology in 2018, and funded as Distinguished Young Scholars by NSFC in 2019. Four postgraduates of him were funded by the Youth Program of National Natural Science Foundation.
