Dr. Lin has been engaged in cardiovascular department since his graduation from the School of Medicine at Sun Yat-sen University at 1989. During 2006-2007, he served as a visiting scholar and studied blood vessel tissue engineering at the Pharmacy School of Wright State University and the School of Medicine of Yale University. In 2008, he started doing clinical researches on geriatrics, and involving in developing national strategy to address population aging as well as national standards for geriatrics specialty development. He is also a member of the Academic Committee of National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology. In the meanwhile, Dr. Lin has been committed to translational research on blood vessel tissue engineering. He has successfully developed a vascular biomechanics research platform, where he advanced the research on in vitro fabrication of functional vascularized three-dimensional tissues. The small-diameter tissue-engineered vascular grafts he cultivated have already entered animal experiment stage.

His research in the field is leading in China and internationally advanced. Dr. Lin has been granted a project support fund of 9.98 million yuan by the Advanced Manufacturing Science and Technology Guangdong Laboratory, among other funds. He is a doctoral supervisor of Guangdong Cardiovascular Institute and the School of Medicine of South China University of Technology, and a master supervisor of Southern Medical University. He has a multi-discipline research team, which includes over ten postgraduates of medicine, biology, and engineering science.
