He graduated from Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of science and technolog. He has Studied in Germany as a visiting scholar to learn neoroendoscopic technology twice. He specialises in minimally invasive treatment for pituitary tumors, hydrocephalus, acoustic neuromas and other brain and spine tumors.

He was awarded as the third prize of Guangdong provincial science and technology progress award. He edited the first treatise about neuroendoscopy in China.
