Notice of Consultation in Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital

According to the instructions of the superior medical department and the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic, A Guide for Patients of the hospital is adjusted as follows:

  1. Outpatients and companions (only one for each patient in principle) visiting the hospital must present the green health code, be in normal body temperature and wear masks (without breathing valve). Outpatients who are going to have high-risk invasive procedures or special treatments, including but not limited to outpatient surgery, gastrointestinal endoscopy, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, lung function examination, radiation therapy for cancer, chemotherapy, hemodialysis and outpatient transfusion, must provide the proof of negative COVID-19 test results within 72 hours when visiting a doctor. The same applies to those who will have invasive examination or treatment in the departments of otolaryngology, ophthalmology, and stomatology.

  2. Outpatients are required to make an appointment for registration and get medical treatment in different time periods. It is recommended to come to wait for consultation 10 minutes in advance. To avoid gathering, please do not visit the hospital too early. For non-emergency patients, please make an appointment.

  3. Please be cooperative with the medical staff to measure the body temperature and complete the epidemiological investigation into COVID-19 truthfully when entering the diagnosis and treatment area. The staff in the waiting area will strictly conduct the investigation for all patients.

  4. Please refrain from walking around in the diagnosis and treatment areakeep a distance of more than 1m when queuing; sit at intervals when waiting for treatment; do not take off your mask at will, and throw it into the designated trash can when discarding it.

  5. Patients who have fever within 14 days and who have been to any foreign countries, Taiwan, Hongkong, and domestic high- and medium-risk areas within 14 days must take the initiative to inform the medical staff and be escorted to the Fever Clinic by designated persons for further investigation.

  6. People with yellow code: Those who have an epidemiological history of COVID-19 or related symptoms (fever, dry cough, sore throat, diarrhea, decreased smell and taste, etc.) will be escorted to the Fever Clinic by designated personnel for further investigation; those who have no epidemiological history or related clinical symptoms of COVID-19 should take a COVID-19 test in designated areas as required.

  7. People with red code will be escorted to the exclusive area of the Fever Clinic for isolation and must immediately report to the local health department.

Hospitalized patients and their companions with a travel history to high- and medium-risk areas or once in contact with persons coming from those areas must first be escorted to the Fever Clinic for COVID-19 screening. Those from low-risk areas must be admitted to the hospital with negative COVID-19 test results within 72 hours, and shall take a COVID-19 test again within 24 hours after the admission (those who are hospitalized with negative COVID-19 test results within 24 hours also need to take a COVID-19 test again after 24 hours of isolation). Companions must enter the ward with the escort card and ID card, and are not allowed to go out during the escort period.
