Prof. Yuan is director of National Healthcare Institute Guangdong Base, director of Guangdong Hospital Management, Evaluation and Quality Control Center, director and expert panel leader of Guangdong Medical Insurance and Pharmaceutical Service Quality Assessment Center, vice chairman of Guangdong Medical Doctor Association, chief member of Hospital Quality Management and Evaluation Committee under Guangdong Medical Association, expert of International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), member of the expert panel of CHS-DRG payment national pilot program, and DIP expert of National Healthcare Security Administration.

Engaged in clinical treatment and hospital management for more than three decades, he has rich clinical experience in critical, refractory and complex diseases in general surgery. He has in-depth research on DIP and DRG application in hospital quality and performance management. He was commissioned by the National Healthcare Security Research Institute to lead the compilation of the National DIP Operating Manual for Hospitals. His publications include Hospital Management Strategies under DRG Payment, Big Data DRG Facilitates Precise Management of Hospitals, and Implementation of Volume-based Procurement of Drugs with MDT Model Big Data. He published more than thirty papers on medicine and hospital management. He is also in charge of several national and provincial research and management projects.
