Glad News: 13 of Our Researchers Listed Among the World’s Top 2% Scientists

The World’s Top 2% Global Scientists 2024 in various disciplines (Seventh Edition) was published by Prof. John Ioannidis and his team from Stanford University on the official website of Elsevier Publishing Group on September 16. The list is divided into the “Career-Long Impact Ranking” and the “Single-Year Impact Ranking.”

Distinguished Prof. Yu Xueqing and Prof. Wu Yilong, have been concurrently listed in both rankings. Additionally, researchers Zhou Qing, Zhong Wenzhao, Liu Zaiyi, Liang Huiying, Gu Bing, Wang Chongwen, Yang Jinji, Zhang Yu, Peng Feng, Lu Cheng, and Huang Yanqi have been honored in the “Single-Year Impact Ranking.”

It is reported that this list is based on citation data analysis from the Scopus database, using six key indicators such as citation counts, H-index, and Hm-index for comprehensive evaluation. It selects the top 2% of scientists globally from nearly 10 million researchers, covering 22 fields and 174 subfields. This provides a measure for the long-term research performance of scientists, reflecting their influence in the domestic and international academic communities more objectively and accurately. Being listed among the top 2% global scientists signifies that the scholar has a certain level of influence in their field and their research contributions have made a significant impact on the development of that field, garnering attention from the global academic community.
